Neighbourhood Watch Update

As many of you will remember when the original NHW scheme was improved to include messaging via Emails we retained the link with local village coordinators so that any concerns / incidents within the village itself could be easily circulated. This did mean that initially all NHW messages would be sent to the coordinators and then forwarded on to you.

As things have improved over the years and different types of messages are being sent out from the central NHW messaging centre such as Action Fraud and Newsletters, it would, I believe, be beneficial for us to consider altering the messaging system we currently have in place.

You will be able to register individually to the NHW scheme which offers a number of advantages. To do this you will need to type the following address into your Internet browser https://www.northamptonshireneighbourhoodalert.co.uk/

When you do register remember that you will be part of the ” Great Houghton” scheme.

Firstly the system will become quicker as you will receive messages directly, therefore there will be no delay between when your “local coordinator” receives the message and forwards it to you. Secondly you will have direct access to the NHW scheme to forward details of any concerns / incidents.

I am still suggesting that we keep the framework of coordinators throughout the village so that we have a convenient / efficient way of circulating messages which relate to incidents within the village itself.

If you are not already a member of the NHW scheme I would hope that you will join using this direct link to the scheme
