Recently a home in Wymersley Close was broken into.
The thieves entered by breaking the back door lock The home in question backs on to the field. However they did not want to steal from the home but to steal the two premium range cars on the front drive. They found the keys to both cars, and were only foiled by the fact that both vehicles had immobiliser systems fitted and the thieves did not have the necessary codes to start the cars.
It would appear that the thieves have looked at potential targets in the whole village, and as such, residents are urged to be extra careful with their security measures and storage of car keys.
